Foreword
The largest bay of the Adriatic Sea in Montenegro is Boka Kotorska., It is the longest, largest and most picturesque bay of Kotor, which is divided into Hercegnovsky, Risanovsky, Tivatsky, Morininsky and directly Kotorsky. In the south there are small colorful bays of Zhukovac Luka and Traschte as well as the picturesque bays of Mala Luka, Trsteno Luka, Yazi Luka.
The Bay of Kotor is the largest bay on the Adriatic, surrounded by the territory of Montenegro.
The Bay of Kotor is sometimes called the southernmost fjord in Europe, but unlike the fjords of Norway, it has a tectonic origin, not a glacial one.
Boka Kotor Bay (Boka Kotor Bay) is considered one of the most beautiful bays in the world and is invariably the main attraction of Montenegro. Boka Kotor Bay once allowed Kotor to be a real trade and shipping center. The favorable location helped save the city from sea pirates.
If you travel through the bay by car or boat, you can enjoy beautiful mountain landscapes almost everywhere.
They are particularly beautiful in the southern part of the bay near the cities of Kotor and Perast and the small islands of the Virgin and Saint George with the churches built on them.
The majestic harbor is protected from wind and strong currents, making it ideal for large cruise ships. On the shore of the bay, old small Montenegrin towns and villages stretch like pearls one after the other. Popular places include Herceg Novi, Tivat, Kotor, Perast and Risan.
