Foreword
There is a historical premise that Montenegro (Crna Gora, the Land of Black Mountains, Montenegro) got its name because of the majestic mountains visible from the Adriatic Sea and covered with dark ("black") lush forests. The mountains invite lovers of extreme recreation and hiking in the mountains, as well as just those who love nature and endless panoramas of mountain ranges and plateaus.
Dinaric highlands
It occupies a significant part of Montenegro and includes the four largest mountain ranges: Durmitor, Vizitor, Komovi and Prokletie mountains. Many tourist routes pass through the amazing nature and beauty of the mountain peaks.
The most important mountains and peaks:
Durmitor Mountains - Bobotov Kuk (2522 or 2523 m), Schleme (2445 m), Suva Rltina (2284 m).
Sinyaevina Mountains
Babin Zub (2253 m), Yablonov peak (2223 m), Pecharats (2041 m), Babin peak (2010 m), Mramorye (1852 m).
Bielasitsa Mountains
Chorna Glava (2137 m), Strenintsa (2122 m), Zekova Glava (2116 m), Burnt Glava (1886 m).
Prokletiye Mountains (North Albanian Alps)
Maya Kolata (2534 m), Zla Kolata (2534 m), Maya Rosit (2522 m), Mali Sapit (2148 m), Haila (2403 m), Shtedim (2272 m).
Komovi Mountains
Kom Kuchki (2487 m), Kom Vasoevichki (2460 m), Kukino Brdo (1964 m).
Visitor Mountains
